War Made Easy ripesca dal buco della memoria orwelliano cinquant'anni di inganni governativi e manipolazione dei media che hanno trascinato gli USA in un turbinio di guerre, dal Vietnam all'Iraq. War Made Easy reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Narrated by actor and activist Sean Penn, the film exhumes remarkable archival footage of official distortion and exaggeration from LBJ to George W. Bush, revealing in stunning detail how the American news media have uncritically disseminated the pro-war messages of successive presidential administrations.
War Made Easy gives special attention to parallels between the Vietnam war and the war in Iraq. Guided by media critic Norman Solomon’s meticulous research and tough-minded analysis, the film presents disturbing examples of propaganda and media complicity from the present alongside rare footage of political leaders and leading journalists from the past, including Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara, dissident Senator Wayne Morse, and news correspondents Walter Cronkite and Morley Safer.

Loretta Alper:
Dopo essere entrata a far parte della Media Education Foundation nel 2000, Loretta Alper ha prodotto quattro film, tra cui Captive Audience: Advertising Invades the Classroom e Class Dismissed: How TV Frames the Working Class, e ha collaborato alla realizzazione di altri sette in qualità di produttore esecutivo. È laureata in Inglese per la Comunicazione alla University of Massachusetts di Amherst e ha conseguito presso la stessa università un master in Insegnamento della Lingua Inglese. Il suo interesse per i linguaggi cinematografici è nato durante l'esperienza di insegnamento della lingua inglese alle scuole superiori. Oltre a insegnare, ha lavorato come giornalista indipendente per la carta stampata e la radio, come protezionista di pellicole in 35mm e ha curato una serie di film indipendenti.
Jeremy Earp:

Loretta Alper:
Since joining MEF in 2000, Loretta Alper has produced four films including Captive Audience: Advertising Invades the Classroom, and Class Dismissed: How TV Frames the Working Class, and has served as executive producer on seven others. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Communication, and a Master's degree in Secondary English Education, both from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She first became interested in media literacy as a high school English teacher. In addition to teaching, she has done independent print and radio journalism, curated an independent film series, and worked as a 35 mm film projectionist.
Jeremy Earp:
The Production Manager at the Media Education Foundation, co-wrote and co-directed the documentary Hijacking Catastrophe: 9/11, Fear & the Selling of American Empire (2004), produced the film Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People (2007), and co-wrote Tough Guise: Violence, Media & the Crisis in Masculinity (1999). Before joining MEF, he taught at New School University and Parsons School of Design in New York City, at the Art Institute of Boston and Northeastern University in Massachusetts, and worked as a news and sports reporter for a daily newspaper outside of Boston. He holds a Master's degree in English from Northeastern University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Communication at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
