In 2008, this animation short won the prestigious award of the Festival du Cinema d'Animation d'Annecy. Seven impeccable minutes proving how you can do a thousand different things with plasticine - you can even bring to life a soldier lost in the middle of a trench, who becomes a symbol of the horrors and loneliness of war. Seven minutes telling an episode in the life of a soldier during a war - or rather, of all soldiers during all wars. A symbol, a war memorial.
A Milan-based studio, Dadomani, that has been making wonderful things for years (and whose co-founder Francesco De Meo has been collaborating since 2004 to organize Milano Film Festival's Focus on Animation) takes you on a journey through the fantastic world of plasticine

Biografia - Biography:
Bruno Collet was born in 1965 in Saint-Brieuc, France. After receiving his degree at the Fine Arts Academy at Rennes, he worked on sculpture and 3D objects exhibitions. His interest in animation developed while he worked for short films and video clips as a decorator. Le Dos au mur, his first animation short was produced in 2001 and awarded in International Critic's Week in Cannes.
In his latest stop-motion animation short Calypso is Like So (2003), featuring a Robert Mitchum puppet running amok on an abandoned movie set, Collet's work pays tribute to the world of classic movies and includes numerous homages and in-joke references to iconic cinema scenes and characters. Employing sight gags, slapstick and a touch of macabre humour, the R.I.P. shorts, reflect his unique and exhilarating animation technique.
After two series, La Tête dans le guidon (2005 / 26 x 1' 30'') and La Tête dans les flocons (2007 / 26 x 1' 30''), Collet's latest works is a short film which deals with the first world war. In this stop motion animated film, the bodies of the soldiers become again matter, alloy of earth and steel, curdled in death for eternity.
