In una campagna inglese che sembra immobile e rarefatta, una ragazza fuori dal comune arriva a sconvolgere la vita apatica di un adolescente. Lui lavora nel pub della cittadina, ogni giorno è uguale all'altro, il suo miglior amico cerca di coinvolgerlo nella caccia alla ragazza più bella da corteggiare. Ma da quando incontra lei la sua prospettiva cambia. Avvolta dalla luce del sole, imprigionata in una fotografia favolistica e irreale, la ragazza si sta preparando a un momento di rivelazione molto speciale, nel quale sta tutta la suggestione del film.
In the apparently still and rarefied English countryside, an extraordinary girl arrives and turns upside down the apathetic life of a teenager. He works in the town's fast food restaurant, and every day is the same, while his best friend tries to involve him in a search for the most beautiful girl to seduce. But when he meets her, his perspective changes. Shining in the sunlight, confined to a fable-like, surreal cinematography, the girl is preparing to disclose something very special - something in which lies the whole fascination of this film.

Biografia - Biography:
Prima di passare al cinema, Esther lavorava in teatro e come fotografa. Alcuni dei suoi primi lavori sono sporchi video a basso budget per produttori del calibro di Oil Factory, film educativi sulla sicurezza per e su marinai arrapati, satire sociali su una famiglia cui viene assegnato un nuovo alloggio in un cassone, duri film di educazione sessuale girati nelle valli gallesi e documentari su una squadra di calcio femminile nel quartiere di Southmead, a Bristol.
Esther ha realizzato numerosi cortometraggi che hanno riscosso successo a festival nazionali e internazionali, tra cui il London Film Festival, Brief Encounters e Clermont Ferrand, oltre a ricevere un encomio speciale da Kodak a Cannes. Al momento sta lavorando al lungometraggio The Number Nine (titolo di lavoro) con Stewart le Maréchal, alla Met Film, e sta anche collaborando con Robyn Slovo di Company Film per realizzare un primo lungometraggio.
Esther worked in theatre and as photographer before moving into film. Early credits include dirty, low budget videos for the likes of promo company the Oil Factory, health and safety films for and about randy sailors, social satires about a family re-housed in a skip, hard hitting sex education films shot in the Welsh valleys and documenting an all girl football team on Bristol's
Southmead Estate.
Esther has made a number of shorts enjoying national and international successes at festivals including the London Film Festival, Brief Encounters, Clermont Ferrand and received a special commendation from Kodak at Cannes. She is working on feature film The Number Nine (working title) with Stewart le Maréchal at Met Film and has also teamed up with Company Film's Robyn Slovo to develop a first feature.
