È uno scherzo? O è tanto assurdo per sembrare vero?
Socket è un "mockumentary", o sarebbe meglio dire un "sockumentary" ...Racconta di uno sport in qualche modo estremo, e lo fa citando a piene mani l'estetica dei film di cassetta americani, da Karate Kid a Rocky. Girato con una semplicissima MiniDV, oltre alle risate, lascia il dubbio che tutto quello che si è visto non sia poi così finto come vuole sembrare.

Socket is a "mockumentary", or rather a "sockumentary" ...It portrays a somehow extreme sport, liberally referring to American blockbusters, from Karate Kid to Rocky. Shot using a simple MiniDV camera, it will make filmgoers laugh, but also doubt whether what they have seen is as fake as it is supposed to be.

Biografia - Biography:
Patricio García, born in Tucumán, Argentina, in October 28, 1977, was a rock composer and a graphic designer before starting cinema studies in the Cinema, Video and TV School of the National University of Tucumán.
The first shorts were made in the institution: Karaoke a fourty seconds silent short documentary about a karaoke party, Bienvenidos a Tucumán (Welcome to Tucumán) a minute short that depicts how a local policeman bribes a tourist, and Ruido Marrón (Brown Noise) a fifteen minutes surrealist-mockumentary experiment. In 2006 studied Screenplay for Comedy with english writer Ronald Wolfe at the St. Martin's College in London.
After leaving school in 2007 directs Socket that results on a very popular work that is selected in important international festivals as San Diego Latino Film Festival, Short Film Corner of the Cannes Festival and now Milano Film Festival. Socket got 1º prize in documenatry category at the 3º Fest Freak International Freak Cinema Festival, La Plata, Argentina, 2007; 1º prize in documentary category in Arte en Video Toma 2, Canal (á), Argentina; and Special Mention for an Original Idea at UNCIPAR 2008, Argentina.
In 2008 produced his first feature length work This is Gasworks, a documentary shot in january-april 2006, that depicts life in an international artists residencie based in London. Now he's working on the scripts for a gothic horror fiction project, and the sequel to Socket.
