A love story taking place in a setting never seen before - at least in films. The "glima", i.e. the Icelandic style of wrestling, looks like a mixture of dance and fighting. The last match of a former champion, before he says goodbye to love, the city, and wrestling.
A rhythm similar to that of American movies of the 50s and a snowy setting provide the finishing touches for this moving film.

Grimur Hákonarson si č laureato alla FAMU, l'accademia di cinema di Praga, nel 2004. Il film con cui si č laureato, Slavek the Shit, č stato selezionato nel 2005 per la sezione Cinéfondation del Festival di Cannes e ha vinto 10 premi in vari festival di tutto il mondo. Prima di frequentare l'accademia di cinema, Grimur ha realizzato film in Islanda, alcuni dei quali hanno vinto dei premi e sono stati trasmessi dalla televisione islandese. La sua serie documentaristica sul musicista disoccupato Vardi, Vardi Goes on Tour (2000) e Vardi Goes Europe (2002), č tra i suoi lavori piů apprezzati dal pubblico islandese.

Grimur Hákonarson graduated from FAMU - Film Academy in Prague 2004. His graduate film, Slavek the Shit, was selected to the Cinefondation section of Cannes Film Festival 2005 and it won 10 prizes in festivals around the world. Grimur made films in Iceland before he went to film school and some of them won prizes and were broadcast on the Icelandic Television. His documentary sequel about the unemployed musician Vardi, Vardi Goes on Tour (2000) and Vardi Goes Europe (2002), are his most popular work among the Icelandic public.
Some of his old shorts were very political, satires about the right-wing Independence Party, Weekend in Auschwitz (1996), and about the right-wing newspaper Morgunblađiđ, Last Words of Hreggvidur (2004). Grimur also made the first icelandic science-fiction film together with Runar Runarsson, Oiko Logos (2000). His new short film, Wrestling (2007), tells the story of two homosexual wrestlers in the country side of Iceland. It was premiered in Locarno Film Festival 2007 and it got a honorary mention. Wrestling has already won six festival prizes.
