Thomas Lindsey's last three days with the fictional "Wellness Corporation", as he prepares for a large investment seminar in an old Pennsylvania town. Thomas has invested everything he owns in Wellness and only has six dollars left to his name. It is only by his profound faith in the promise of Wellness that he's left alone without any evidence of the product, carries on with his sales seminar empty-handed.
Biografia - Biography:
Born and raised in Ohio, Mahaffy's experimental shorts and low-budget, feature-length films WAR and Wellness have screened in festivals and competitions around the world. He studied filmmaking at RISD and the Russian State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, co-founded the "Handcranked Film Projects" in Boston and is now developing a new filmmaking curriculum at Wheaton College, Massachusetts as an Associate Professor.
For the upcoming Free in Deed, a feature film about a man who tries to perform a miracle and fails, Mahaffy was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "new faces of independent film" and has received a Rockefeller Media Arts Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Creative Capital grant, and the Sundance Institute's inaugural Lynn Auerbach Screenwriting Fellowship, after developing the project at the 2006 Sundance Filmmaker's Labs.
His latest completed feature, Wellness, about an unwitting pyramid-scheme salesman who tries to succeed in a business that doesn't exist, won Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 SXSW Film Festival and is playing in other international festivals.
