Submission form

All participants can submit more than one film per category. The selected videos will be shown during Milano Film Festival, which will be held from the 11th to the 20th of September 2009 at Piccolo Teatro Strehler, Parco Sempione, Teatro dal Verme, Acquario Civico and in other locations within the city.

Filmmakers, NGOs and other organisations will have the opportunity to present their movies in five different moments, each of them dedicated to a different section of the competition.

The jury in charge will be made up of three members known as highly influential people in the film industry and they will chose the best five shorts per section to be shown during the festival. Furthermore, the jury will award the best short film per section and the overall winner of this first edition of NGO World Videos.

The Art Director of Milano Film Festival explains "this collaboration between COOPI and Milano Film Festival aims at promoting awareness amongst an emerging audience of people who seek to investigate issues of international development and social communication. Our aim is to boost the production of good quality documentaries, both from an artistic point of view and from one of content". Francesco Quistelli, director of the Communication Department at COOPI, adds that films are always able to bring people closer to many issues, generating a process of emotional and direct communication. COOPI believes that Milano Film Festival is a great opportunity to bring awareness to people about themes affecting developing countries, and to strengthen NGO work through a more professional approach to visual communication.
