La barca a motore dei ribelli corre veloce fra le mangrovie nel delta del Niger. Durante l'intervista sono armati e incappucciati, raccontano gli assalti agli impianti petroliferi e i rapimenti di impiegati stranieri. Contro lo sfruttamento da parte di multinazionali come Shell o Agip e contro il governo nigeriano loro complice, la lotta armata dei ribelli è sostenuta da una gran parte del popolo nigeriano. Durante il giro nella vasta zona del delta, gli abitanti mostrano il disastroso inquinamento dell'acqua dei fiumi, della terra non più coltivabile e dell'aria: il gas di scarto, uscendo in gigantesche torce anche di notte, crea uno scenario dantesco. Gli scontri fra i guerriglieri, l'esercito e le milizie private delle compagnie straniere rischiano di scatenare una rivolta popolare.
The rebels' motorboat sails fast among the Niger Delta mangroves. During this interview/documentary - made by the staff of the Italian TV programme Report - they are armed and hooded, and tell about the assaults to the oil plants and the kidnapping of foreign employees. They fight against the exploitation by multinational companies - such as Shell or Agip - and against the Nigerian government who is their accomplice. Their armed struggle is supported by most Nigerians. During the trip in the vast Delta area, the inhabitants show the catastrophic contamination of the rivers, of the now-uncultivable land, and of the air: waste gases create every night a Dantean landscape dotted with impressive fires. The violent confrontations between guerrilla fighters, the army, and the mercenaries hired by foreign companies constantly risk to provoke riots among the population.
