Sinossi / Synopsis

Cos'è la felicità? Forse correre superando ogni ostacolo verso l'oceano, o forse la felicità è adesso, come si legge su un cartellone pubblicitario. Padre e figlio sono in auto verso una meta sconosciuta, e il breve viaggio sarà l'occasione per chiedersi dove stia la felicità. Il finale è di quelli che tolgono il fiato.

What is happiness? It may be running towards the ocean overcoming all obstacles, or maybe happiness is now, as placards say. A father and his son are driving towards an unknown destination, and the short trip will provide an occasion to wander what happiness is. The end is breathtaking.

Note di regia / Director's Statement

It's my first short film. At 60 years old. I've never thought of directing a short. Then, a Sunday of August, I've passed by car near a beach in Lisbon where a multitude of persons where walking by, laughing, running. And we could hear Mina singing on the loudspeaker "Vedrai, vedrai..." Then I thought: perhaps this is happiness, what do we know? Some months later I filmed, this long travelling about happiness, a short thing, moving. On the year of my 60th anniversary, perhaps this is happiness: being able to film.
