"Mi vuoi sposare?". Di solito, prima di pronunciare una domanda simile, uno ci ha pensato a lungo. Oppure al contrario, è una domanda che sale da un impeto di passione non calcolato. Per il protagonista del corto non sappiamo quale ipotesi sia la più vera. Sappiamo che ci sono di mezzo un paio di calzini gialli e una ragazza impertinente che non vorrebbe far uscire mai più dal suo letto. Tutto in un film dalla sceneggiatura magistrale.
"Will you marry me?" Usually, before popping the question, one thinks about it a lot. Or, on the contrary, it is a question that bursts out in a sudden surge of passion. For the short film's main character we do not know which is the most plausible hypothesis. We only know that the story involves a pair of yellow socks and a saucy girl he would like to keep in his bed forever. All these elements are mixed in a film that boasts a masterful screenplay.
Note di regia / Director's StatementOf course my film is about a marriage proposal, but beneath the surface Katrin and Marco are playing that great game of conquest and retreat. What interests me most areÊthe emotions and the vulnerability that lurk behind the strategies, tricks and feints of the male-female power game. The bed as the setting resembles the arena of the closed, almost claustrophobic microcosm of a relationship. When Katrin breaks away and goes to the window, allowing the outside world to enter, this world might momentarily appear a possible liberation - but it is a very ambiguous and unmanageable one. Ultimately, in spite of everything, an unspoken sense of solidarity hovers in the air above them, and they are in fact unable to let go of each other.

Grzegorz Muskala was born in Gliwice, Poland in 1978. His family moved to Germany in 1981. He studied dramatics, film and television sciences in Cologne from 1997 - 2001. From 2002 until 2003 he studied fictional and documentary directing at the national polish filmschool (PWSFTviT) in Lodz. Since 2004 he is studying directing at the German film and television academy Berlin (dffb).
