Una tragedia iniziale, la morte della madre, porta Jonas a riavvicinarsi al padre che non vede da molto tempo. Tra parole non dette, sguardi profondi e abbracci mancati, padre e figlio si riavvicinano, e le ferite ancora sanguinanti iniziano a guarire. La luce fredda e grigia che pervade il film sottolinea con discrezione la durezza dei sentimenti e il distacco tra i personaggi.
At the beginning, a tragedy: the death of Jonas' mother leads him to bond with his father, whom he has not seen for a long time. Among unsaid words, intense looks and missed hugs, father and son become reconciled, and the open wounds begin to heal. The cold, grey light that permeates the film discreetly underlines the harshness of feelings and the distance between the characters.
Note di regia / Director's StatementIt's a human drama, in its most immediate essence. A snapshot of a father and a son who don't know each other, in a dramatic context that none of them can have under control. It's a chronicle where affective poverty gets along with a kind of social misery. I just wanted to pay a tribute to people who just have enough to live, and tried to set the film in an environment that characterizes them.
