Sinossi / Synopsis

On his psychoanalyst's bed, Henry desperately speaks about his problem: a meteorite has crushed him. He survives but is forced to live at a distance of 91 centimetres from himself. Therefore he can walk through walls and switch on his old TV without seeing the screen, although he will have to redesign his home according to this distance. He says he can get used to it, yet such a life cannot last long... Fusing the Fifties' science-fiction imaginarium and psychoanalysis, Jeremy Clapin has depicted an unforgettable and clearly topical character. The Greek word "Shkizein" means "split" and is the root of the word "schizophrenia".

Note di regia / Director's Statement

"Skhizein started out as an etching of a man, in a sitting position, but with his chair a few feet away. Taking this very graphic idea, I soon realised that there was a way to develop it into a tale. The title "Skhizein" is actually half of the etymological root of the word schizophrenia, and means "split"".
