Sinossi / Synopsis

Il film-documento nasce dalla volontà del regista di esplorare nel web i video segnalati per un contenuto eversivo e di preservarli dalla scomparsa. Dal web, e quindi dalla memoria collettiva di un Paese che si trova, in quel momento, in piena campagna elettorale. Il senso del film, oltre che nel lavoro di ricerca, sta soprattutto nel montaggio, che intende inserire quei contenuti in un contesto e restituire loro la dignità di testimonianza non filtrata sugli USA di oggi.

The documentary resulted from the filmmaker's will to search the web for videos reported as subversive, and to preserve them from disappearing. The web represented the collective memory of a country that was then right in the middle of the presidential campaign. The film's meaning resides not only in the research work, but above all in the editing, aimed at providing a context to those contents and giving them the status of an unfiltered report on today's USA.

Note di regia / Director's Statement

"I was watching video on the Internet and I noticed that certain homemade clips were flagged for their content. As they were disappearing from free hosting sites, I started to save and edit them in a capsule format. Working in a gray zone about copyright, I nevertheless fulfill the authors' will to contextualize their situation by grouping their videos together and more important diffuse / preserve their messages."
