Alle porte della ricca cittadina francese di Cassis, percorrendo una stradina secondaria si arriva a Fontblanche, una delle tante baraccopoli di Francia ad avere un nome e una ben precisa identità. Fontblache è un villaggio di fragili capanne senza bambini né donne. Da cinquant'anni è abitato da un gruppo di tunisini che da cinquant'anni lavorano a Cassis come muratori, manovali, operai. Il documentario racconta la vita di questi uomini ormai anziani, della loro famiglia lontana, del piccolo orticello ricavato tra l'immondizia; e dell'inaspettato regalo che un giorno arriva, probabilmente in ritardo, dall'amministrazione comunale. Ma gli immigrati sono veramente interessati ad accettarlo?
At the gates of the rich French city of Cassis, by going through a secondary road you can get to Fontblanche, one of the many French shantytowns that do not have a name, or even a well-defined identity. Fontblanche is a village of fragile huts where no kids or women live. For fifty years it has been inhabited by a group of Tunisians who have since worked as builders or factory workers. The documentary focuses on these now-old men, their distant families, the small vegetable garden growing in the rubbish, and the unexpected gift they receive one day - probably too late - from the city council. However are these immigrants really interested in accepting it?
