Giugno, stagione delle piogge in Giappone. Rinko e Shigehiko vivono un matrimonio senza passione. Un giorno Rinko riceve una busta con alcune sue foto compromettenti. Il mittente della lettera, che si fa chiamare Igushi, è un vecchio paziente psichiatrico di Rinko. Igushi e Rinko intraprendono un gioco erotico che avrà conseguenze inaspettate. Attraverso il ricatto di mostrare le foto al marito, la costringe a superare le sue inibizioni e a prendere consapevolezza del proprio corpo. Il marito scopre presto le foto e il rapporto segreto che unisce Rinko a Igushi. Il genio dell' horror Tsukamoto in un valzer dell' eros fortemente lirico.
June is the rainy season in Japan. Rinko and Shigehiko's marriage is lacking passion. One day Rinko receives an envelope containing some compromising pictures of her. The sender is an old psychiatric patient of Rinko's, named Igushi. Igushi and Rinko begin an erotic play that will have unexpected consequences. By blackmailing her, saying that he will show the pictures to her husband, Igushi forces her to overcome her inhibitions and become aware of her body. Yet her husband finds out about the pictures and their secret relationship. Horror genius Tsukamoto stages a highly poetical dance of eros.

Biografia/Biography: Nato nel 1960, Tsukamoto è uno degli autori più personali della cinematografia giapponese contemporanea. Esordisce sul finire degli anni Ottanta, con alcune opere diventate di culto per le sue originali scelte estetiche e di contenuto, che uniscono immagini vorticose, spesso indecifrabili e personaggi fortemente ibridati con le macchine e con le deviazioni biotecnologiche.
Completamente indipendente, nel 1988 realizza Tetsuo, suo film più celebre, che gli permette di guadagnarsi l'attenzione della critica e riscuote un grande successo soprattutto all'interno degli ambienti underground. Oltre ad essere autore e regista dei suoi film, Tsukamoto spesso interviene sul montaggio e sulla musica, e in qualche caso recita anche.
In Italia il suo nome è diventato celebre grazie al prezioso contributo di enrico ghezzi, che gli ha dedicato numerose puntate di Fuori Orario sottotitolando per la prima volta i suoi film e rendendoli accessibili al grande pubblico. Dopo aver dedicato due film al personaggio di Nightmare Detective, il suo ultimo lavoro, unico lavoro giapponese in concorso al Festival di Venezia 2009, è un remake del classico Tetsuo.
Born in 1960, Tsukamoto is one of the most personal authors of Japanese contemporary cinema. He debuted in the late 80s with some works that became cult for his original esthetic choices and for the content, often indecipherable, and for the characters interbred with machines and by biotechnological deviations. Totally independent, in 1988 he made Tetsuo, his most famous film, which drew critics attention and was a great success especially in the underground scenes. Besides being author and director of his films, Tsukamoto often works also on shooting and on music , and in some cases he acts too. In Italy his name is famous thanks to Enrico Ghezzi, who dedicated several episodes of Fuori Orario to him, subtitling his films and making them accessible to the great public. After making two films on the character Nightmare Detective, his last work, the only Japanes film in competition at the Venice Festival 2009, is a remake of the classic Tetsuo.
