Sinossi / Synopsis

Il film racconta le meravigliose storie e le ignote relazioni che legano l'uomo alla terra: una terra da amare e curare come se fosse il giardino di casa nostra. Il film si apre con un'immagine di estrema positività che catapulta lo spettatore nell'incanto e splendore del pianeta, da cui emergono tutti quegli elementi che lo rendono luminoso, vivo e bello. La terra è una risorsa indispensabile per la nostra sussistenza e regola i cambiamenti climatici del nostro pianeta. Dirt! The Movie è narrato da Jamie Lee Curtis e dà voce ad una serie di figure da tempo attente all'impatto sociale, economico, politico ed ambientale dello sfruttamento della terra, fra cui l'ambientalista indiana Vandana Shiva, il premio nobel keniota Wangari Maathai, il fotografo Sebastia˜o Salgado.

The film tells the wonderful stories and the unknown relations that connect the man to the soil: a soil that has to be loved and cherished as if it was that of our own backyard. The film's opening scene is an extremely positive image that plunges viewers deep into the magic and splendour of our planet and in which are condensed all the elements that make it luminous, alive and wonderful. The soil is an essential element of our subsistence, and it regulates the planet's climate changes. Dirt! The Movie is narrated by Jamie Lee Curtis and gives voice to a series of figures that, for a long time, have cared about the social, economic, political and environmental impact of the Earth's exploitation - among them, Indian environmentalist Vandana Shiva, Kenyan Nobel prize Wangari Maathai, and photographer Sebastião Salgado.

Biografia/Biography:

Bill Benenson, produttore dall'esperienza trentennale, si interessa da sempre di tematiche di sensibilizzazione ambientale. Attualmente collabora con i seguenti organismi: Frances and Benjamin Benenson Foundation, Violence Policy Center, National Resources Defense Council, Bioneers, Rainforest Action Network e Ploughshares.
Gene Rosow eclettico sceneggiatore e produttore, dopo aver conseguito il dottorato in storia ha approfondito i suoi interessi per l'ecologia, la biochimica e la fisiologia cellulare.
