The film shows how the Jamaican invention called dub ended up influencing much of the music we hear today, from electronic music to hip-hop, transforming the studio in a musical instrument and giving way to all of sonic experiments. Bass and silence and the studio as just one more musician: this is dub. Dub Echoes meticulously recounts the sacred places of dub - obviously Jamaica, but also London, NY, LA, Rio and São Paulo - to bring us a panoramic and microscopic view of one the most precious musical phenomena of the century.
