Sinossi / Synopsis
L'anziano patriarca di una tribù in Marocco racconta ai pastori la nascita del mondo, attraverso la messa in immagini dei primi sette capitoli della Genesi. Nella narrazione convivono elementi di rimando alla contemporaneità, come il riferimento alla Guerra del Golfo. L'espressione "messa in immagini" non è usata a caso: Genesi si inserisce nel solco di Lungo il fiume e Il segreto del bosco vecchio nella ricerca di un'estetica sobria ed essenziale, che allo stesso tempo offre momenti di grande eleganza figurativa. Girato in Marocco con interpreti del posto e Omero Antonutti nel ruolo del vecchio saggio, era il primo capitolo di una serie fortemente voluta da Bernabei nel solco dei maestosi racconti televisivi degli anni Sessanta.
The old patriarch of a tribe in Morocco tells the shepherds about the creation of the world, by tracing the portrait of the Genesis' first seven chapters. The narration contains many allusions to the contemporary times, such as that to the Gulf War. The expression "trace the portrait" has been used on purpose: Genesis follows the track previously traced by Down the River and The Secret of the Old Woods, in seek of sober and essential aesthetics that, at the same time, offer great moments of figurative elegance. Shot in Marocco with local actors and Omero Antonutti as the old sage, this was the first chapter of a series truly wanted by Bernabei and following the trend set by the majestic television narrations of the 1960Ős.
