Sinossi / Synopsis
La quotidianità di Mariusz, tra colazioni in famiglia, lezioni seguite controvoglia, i pensieri che corrono verso i pomeriggi da passare in palestra. 38,5 è la storia di un giovane boxeur e dei pochi chili che ancora lo separano dal suo sogno. Documentando quella dedizione che solo l'adolescenza può conoscere. Quindici anni e 38,5 chili fuori dalla norma.
Mariusz is 15 years old. He has parents, brother, sister. He lives on Ruda Pabianicka - south district of Lodz. He's fan of football team Widzew. He goes to school. Interfere with his brother. Plays football with friends. Trains boxing. Wins competitions. He weighs under 40 kilos. But, still child or already adult? About that, where is the border. And how much does it weigh...
Note di regia / Director's Statement
"The idea of film "38,5" came out after my meeting with Marius - main character of the story. In first minute I've noticed that he has something really, really fascinating in his face. Some kind of mistery. And when I've started to think about that I've realized that Marius is in the very specific moment in his life. Moment when you're not a child, but you're not an adult either... It's interesting for me because I feel like that all the time..."

Grzegorz Debowski was born in 6-01-1987 in Warsaw. Student of Directing Department in Polish National Filmschool in Lodz. Author of dozen short documentaries and fiction. Creator of music videos. Graduate of Technical Fotographic Highschool and Sound Design School. Awarded in literary contest of Jerzy Pilch and weekly "Polityka".
