Sinossi / Synopsis
Haiti, gennaio 2010. Un tassista è in giro a notte tarda. Una telefonata gli annuncia che il suo paese è devastato dal terremoto. Eduardo Giralt è un venezuelano di 23 anni, e questo è il suo cortometraggio di diploma alla Film School of the Museum of Fine Arts di Boston, realizzato con una Arri 16mm e una troupe di 4 persone (lui compreso) senza attori professionisti. 8 minuti di tensione e dolore, indifferenza e incredulità. E senso del cinema.
Haiti, January 2000. A taxi-driver is driving around late at night. A phone call tells him that his country has been devastated by an earthquake. Eduardo Giralt is a 23 year-old Venezuelan and this is his end of course short film for the Film School of the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, made with a 16mm Arri and a troupe of 4 people (including himself) without professional actors. 8 minutes of tension and grief, indifference and incredulity. And a sense of the cinema.

Biografia/Biography
Eduardo Giralt è un regista venezuelano, che sta attualmente completando il suo percorso di studi presso la Scuola di Belle Arti all'Università di Boston. Ha lavorato nel campo della produzione cinematografica mentre studiava legge a Caracas, per poi trasferirsi negli Stati Uniti. Lì, ha conosciuto Fernando Birri, il maestro e il fondatore del Nuovo Cinema Latinamericano. Sotto la sua guida, Eduardo ha avuto modo di conoscere meglio il cinema Neorealista e Latinoamericano.
Eduardo Giralt is a Venezuelan filmmaker, who is currently finishing his BFA at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University in Boston, USA. He started working in film productions while studying law in Caracas. After quitting law school, he moved to the United States to study film. There, Eduardo took a mentorship with the Argentine filmmaker and founding father of the New Latin American cinema, Maestro Fernando Birri. Under his apprenticeship, Eduardo learned the theory behind Neorealism and Latin American cinema.
