Sinossi / Synopsis
L'impianto fognario non funziona più, e nemmeno il matrimonio dei suoi genitori. Il ventenne Tomas è solo in casa con la sorella Catalina, cinque anni in meno e un corpo che parla. L'acqua sporca comincia a entrare in casa...Opera di diploma per un regista cileno classe 1986, prodotto con la scuola (l'Università Cattolica di Santiago, tra l'altro) e con un autofinanziamento, per arrivare ai 1300 dollari necessari a realizzarlo.
The sewage system is not working any more, nor is his parents' marriage. Twenty year-old Tomas is alone at home with his sister Catalina, five years younger and with a body that speaks. Dirty water starts to come into the house... The end of course work by a Chilean director born in 1986, produced with the school (including the Catholic University of Santiago) and self-financed, to reach the $1300 needed to make it.

"I think cinema is a very significant social tool, although in the area of fiction chileans films this has not been worked actually. Cinema is the most influential way of expression of this time, but in Chile a special interest does not exist about social problematic or social critic. Always I think about a film I think in a great choice to express many things and thoughts about reality and the social context which we are part."

Biografia/Biography
Carlos Leiva (1986) studied social communication at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. While he was studying he developed a reputable career as a young short film director, being awarded in chilean shortfilm festivals. In 2008 his documentary shortfilm El Hijo was official selected of many chilean festivals and also in latinoamerican festivals. This shortfilm won the best shortfilm prize in Fesancor 2008, Valdivia 2009 and Ovalle 2009. His second short film, a fiction called Ambiente Familiar was his graduation exam. This shortfilm has been official selected of many international shortfilms in Mexico, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, winning in Chile in Patagonia-Aysen film festival 2010. His work in this field is characterized by social and realistic pieces, always trying to find the more realistic way to talk about the world and his social problematic. Actually, he works on his first feature film, All in the family.
