Sinossi / Synopsis
È ora di cena. Due genitori sono a tavola, quando il figlio arriva con una colomba ferita. "Che cos'è?" chiede il padre. "Cosa ti sembra che sia?", risponde il figlio. "Voglia tenerla", dice il bambino. "Non è possibile", replica il padre. "Voglio tenerla e voglio una gabbia per lei", insiste il figlio. "Chi la paga?", chiede il padre. "Tu", è la risposta. Adrian Sitaru è un regista rumeno di corti pluripremiati, invitato a scrivere il suo primo lungo nell'ambito della Cinéfondation del Festival di Cannes.
It's time for dinner. Two parents are at the table, when their son arrives with an injured dove. "What is it?" his father asks. "What do you think it is?" the son replies. "I want to keep it. "You can't", answers his father, "I want to keep it and I want a cage for it", the son insists. "Who's going to pay for it?" asks the father. "You are", is the answer. Adrian Sitaru is an award-winning Romanian director of short films, and has been invited to write his first feature film by the Cinéfondation of the Cannes Festival.

Biografia/Biography
Dopo aver studiato regia a Bucharest, nel 2007 Adrian ha realizzato il cortometraggio Waves (sceneggiatura e regia), che ha vinto sia il Golden Leopard al Festival di Locarno, sia il premio Miglior Cortometraggio al Sarajevo Film Festival, Namur, Dresda, Aspen e altri 22 premi. Waves è stato anche selezionato all'interno del concorso ufficiale del Sundance 2008. Adrian Sitaru ha ultimato il suo primo lungometraggio Hooked nel 2008 (sceneggiatura e regia), selezionato nella rassegna Venice Days alla Biennale di Venezia 2008 e al Toronto International Film Festival 2008; è stato inoltre premiato in festival come Palm Springs, Thessaloniki, Mons, Buenos Aires and Estoril. Attualmente Adrian sta lavorando a due nuovi progetti: i lungometraggi Domestic e From Love with Best Intentions.
