Don Letts torna a parlare dell'amico Joe Strummer, documentando il lavoro di Strummerville, la fondazione creata dopo la prematura scomparsa del musicista da amici e famigliari, per portare avanti il suo particolare contributo al mondo della musica. Tra live dei Clash e dei MescalerosÊ e i ricordi di amici e collaboratori più o meno noti, sbucano felicemente gli estratti dell'archivio personale di Strummer stesso, in un ritratto inedito del quotidiano dell'artista. Ma le vere star del film sono i giovani musicisti che hanno trovato supporto nella fondazione. La maggior parte di loro non era ancora nata quando Strummer insieme ai Clash scriveva il suo personale capitolo della storia della musica mondiale, ma tutti sentono di dovergli qualcosa. Come dichiara il regista: "In un clima culturale dove ormai sembra che il punk non sia mai esistito, "Strummerville" arriva a ricordare che c'è una strada da seguire. Don Letts once again talks about his friend Joe Strummer, documenting the work of Strummerville, the foundation created after the premature death of the musician by his friends and family, to carry on his special contribution to the world of music. Extracts of StrummerÕs personal archives successfully emerge from between live performances by The Clash and The Mescaleros and memories of friends and people he worked with, some famous and others not, composing an original portrait of the artist's daily life. But the real stars of the film are the young musicians who have found support at the foundation.
