Points on a Space Age raccoglie spezzoni di recenti performance, materiale dÕarchivio e nuove interviste in una stratificazione sperimentale scandita da alcuni passaggi chiave della filosofia di Sun Ra, dall'"Afrofuturismo" all'avvento dell'era spaziale. Il film riflette l'estetica di uno dei più significativi complessi avant-garde jazz di tutti i tempi tracciando un parallelo tra l'Arkestra all'epoca di Sun Ra e quella che ancora (r)esiste dopo 50 anni di onorata attività.
"Points on a Space Age is a layered and experimental combination of recent performance footage, archival footage and new interviews articulated around some of the key points of Sun Ra philosophy, involving "afrofuturism" and a forthcoming space age. The film mirrors the aesthetic of perhaps the most interesting avant-garde jazz ensemble of all time, paralleling the Arkestra in the times of Sun Ra and tha one that still (r)exist today, after its almost 50 years of honoured activity."
