Steven Shorter, played by Paul Jones, is "the most desperate and popular entertainer in the world": he is not only a rock star, but a brand at the mercy of his fans. The director's only fiction film, it is a critical allegory of the system of the collective imagination on pop music and its mechanisms. Whilst Steven lo longer finds his identity, the managers try to organize his personality and fans continue to claim his soul. The rock star is used for a frightening pop-religious derivation, even though in his soul he continues to repeat "I want to be nothing".
