La vita di Christine cambia improvvisamente il giorno in cui scopre il corpo di un bambino sul ciglio di una strada, investito da una macchina e lasciato morire così. Tutta la cittadina è sotto shock, e più si approfondiscono le ricerche sull’automobilista assassino più i fatti restano avvolti nell’oscurità. Ma in una cittadina in cui le vite di tutti gli abitanti sono intrecciate, nessuno è davvero innocente.

“Quando avevo 9 anni, mio padre è partito per un viaggio di tre mesi. Per tutto il tempo non ho fatto altro che immaginarmi il giorno in cui sarei andata ad aspettarlo all’aeroporto. Ma quello che poi ho fatto in realtà è stato solo andargli incontro, baciarlo e dirgli "ciao". È stato questo il motivo per cui ho girato il film? Forse no, ma la mia intenzione era quella di ritrarre personaggi pieni di parole, idee e storie, ma incapaci di esprimerle perché trattenuti da qualche forza estranea”.

Christine's life is changed when she discovers a child's body by the side of the road, killed in a hit-and-run accident and left for dead. The whole village is in a state of shock and the longer the search for the killer goes on, the more the facts are obscured. But, in a small village where everyone's lives are interlinked, no one is truly innocent and everyone has blood on their hands.

“When I was nine years old, my father had to spend three months. All that time, I used to imagine what it would be like when we went to greet him at the airport on his return. But what actually happened was that I simply walked up to him, kissed him, and shyly said ‘hello’. Does that explain why I made this film? Probably not, but when I started writing the script, my real intention was to portray characters who are full of words, ideas and stories, but are unable to utter or express them because they are held back by some strange force”.
