Focus Animazione is outlined like a small festival-shaped program to understand the new currents of world animation.
The feature film Marona’s Fantastic Tale by Anca Damian – italian premiere – has a richness of techniques with which it’s capable of narrating, amid different signs and styles, the adventurous life of a stray dog; a perfect parable to portray a language without cages and with no limits.
Of course, the historic Maratona Animazione will be there too. There we’ll find a neo-narrative declination of short films and the rediscovery of love for stories that recover the ancient art of storytelling.
To close the focus on the animated genre, the workshop “Creating animated paintings with Rino Stefano Tagliafierro” – in collaboration with Today at Apple. The director and video artist Rino Stefano Tagliafierro – multi award-winning with Beauty and many times at Milano Film Festival – will allow participants to explore the boundaries of a language that can start from a nineteenth-century painting to reach the boundaries of web-art and of experimental animation.
