Children at the festival: the Mini Film Festival

Among the events linked with the main film competition, for the first time in the history of the Festival music will benefit from a space of its own in the impressive atmosphere of the Moats of the Castello Sforzesco, with a programme full of live performances (free entry) that will enliven the evenings from 7 pm until late in the night.

The concerts of Milano Film Festival will feature young artists that are still independent from the business needs of international labels, but at the same time they will present Italian renowned bands, singers of regional traditional songs and Balkan and North-African musicians. Musical events are open to all kinds of music, from the rhythms of Salento (Puglia) by Zina (opening concert, Friday 16th, 9.30 pm), to the Balkan sounds of Opa Cupa (Friday 16th, 11 pm); from folk songs in Brianza’s dialect by Francesco Magni (Saturday 24th, 7 pm) to the minimalist electronic music by CT Lab (Sunday 25th, 7 pm); from the pop sound of Northpole (Monday 19th, 7 pm) to the ’60-’70’s rock by Lombroso (Wednesday 21st, 10.30 pm).

Moreover, the square in front of the Teatro Strehler becomes a lively dj set with international guests (every day at 7pm) while at lunchtime festivalgoers can take a rest and listen to classical and jazz concerts.
