Daniele Gaglianone
Daniele Gaglianone was born in Ancona in 1966 and has been living in Turin since 1972. He worked at many short films and documentaries, until 2000, when he met Giancluca Arcopinto and directed his first feature film, I nostri anni, which won him the participation to the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the Festival de Cannes in 2001. Two years after, again with Arcopinto, he shot Nemmeno il destino, a co-production with Pierpaolo Trezzini and Domenico Procacci’s Fandango, which was also in charge of the film distribution. The film was selected for the Venice Days during the Venice International Film Festival in 2004 and won International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2005.

The Short Film Competition Jury
In 1982 Fabio Cirifino (photography), Paolo Rosa (visual arts and cinema) and Leonardo Sangiorgi (graphics and animation) founded Studio Azzurro, a centre of artistic experimentation and video production. In 1995 the group was joined by Stefano Roveda, an expert in interactive systems, that complemented and enriched the different artistic personalities in the studio. Studio Azzurro has one single soul, which animates different bodies – a soul made up by people with different beliefs, experiences, aspirations and roles that produce a single creative atmosphere. Studio Azzurro's research is aimed at creating ''sensitive environments'' where technology is combined with narration and space; where the artistic outcome derives from people's choices; and where the relationship between men coexists with the relationship between man and machine. Interactive environments are supported by ''natural interfaces'' that allow the audience's interactions without technical tools, but through ''natural'' actions such as touching, stomping or talking. This allows people to approach the technology in a natural way; it stimulates dialogue and helps a spontaneous immersion in the sensorial experience. Studio Azzurro has developed its original research not only in typically experimental venues, but also in the traditional art world, including exhibitions and museums. Research has been applied not only to videos, but also to films, theatre, musical theatre and dance, and each time original narrative ideas and visual images have been found in order to generate a genuine and visionary combination of genres. Studio Azzurro has produced several documentaries on artists' works; it has also played an important educational role, has produced theoretical work and has sponsored and participated in workshops and seminars.
