Incontri italiani - italian get-togethers The creation of a group of young filmmakers that grows, works and cooperates at the festival; an ensemble of people that could change the future of Italian filmmaking – this has been one of Milano Film Festival goals for years. Therefore the festival has promoted the interaction and live discussion among filmmakers – an obsolete tradition in the Italian film world. Different from usual meetings between directors and public, these get-togethers are rich in ideas, plans and new projects. This year Incontri Italiani features 21 filmmakers and their works, and gathers a lively audience on two different days: Friday 23rd at the Castello for a 4-hour screening, and Saturday 24th at the Teatro Strehler. In the end, an interesting innovation: a prize awarded to a short film by the filmmakers attending Incontri Italiani.
