The International Feature Film Competition Jury

Danielle Arbid was born in Beirut, worked as a journalist for 5 years before becoming fully involved in the film industry. She is interested in diverse ways of relating stories, e.g. fiction films, creative documentaries and video essays and she loves trying out new mixtures of genre. Her first feature film Dans les champs de bataille was presented in the Cannes Film Festival in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, it was awarded with the Prix Europa and the prize for the best Feature Film at the Milano Film Festival 2004.

Luca Rastello is a journalist and writer, worked in the Balkans, in the Caucasus, in Central Asia, Africa and South America. He worked in international cooperation and in non-profit organizations for 10 years. His book La guerra in casa explores the contradictions of his work in relation to the wars in Yugoslavia in the 1990s. Piove all’insù, his first novel published in 2006, is a portrait of Italy in the 1970s.

Roberto Saviano is a writer and free lance journalist. He writes critical essays and articles in magazines and on the web. His first book, entitled Gomorra. Viaggio nell'impero economico e nel sogno di dominio della camorra is a tart and biting novel, which focuses on the camorra, an Italian local mafia that has taken a hold of the economic, financial and military power. The book presents a series of statements, myths and analyses collected by the author in the places where ambushes occurred, and in the shops and factories managed by criminal clans.
