Born in 1966, he became a director after working as a photographer, editor, and screenwriter. He studied editing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - National Film School, and later started to work as a documentarian, making reports both in Italy and abroad.

He directed two feature films - La Capa Gira (2000) and Mio Cognato (2004) - and he also set up a production company, called Seminal Film. Between 2002 and 2006, he was author of several radioplays for Radio3 Rai. In the following year, he directed for Fondazione Pettruzzelli and Teatri di Bari his fist opera, a production of Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze, by Nino Rota.

He has also been involved in social projects regarding the Italian Mezzogiorno, like the one called "Perotti Point", aimed at demolishing the "eco-monster" tower Punta Perotti, on the Bari coastline. Filmmakers from the whole country came to South Italy's region of Puglia to shoot a collective documentary on this major event. He is presently working on a TV series for Mediaset, as well as on a new feature.
