Drinkable water at the Milano Film Festival
The italians are the first consumers of mineral water in the world. We averagely drink every year almost 190 litres of it each. And outside of home, in public localities, we drink almost exclusively water in bottles. Often the owners themselves are the ones who explain to us that they can't serve us a glass of water from the sink when we ask for it, although no law which forbids it.
Milano Film Festival collaborates with TASM (environmental guardianship of southern Milan) and takes part in the imbrocchiamola! campaign of Altraeconomia because:
1. Sink water is good, safe and doesn't pollute.
2. We believe that water must remain a public good and so it shouldn't be privatized or be led in the hands of bottle companies.
3. There is no law which obliges to sell mineral water in bottles. The confusion started in 2005, brought up by Minister Marzano's decree which introduced the mini water containers. The confusion was quickly clarified thanks to a circular from the same minister which said nothing would change about the administration of un-bottled water.
4. No operation can refuse sink water: actually its price should be included in the service.
The festival bars will provide selfservice drinkable water distributors.
Visibili (accompany service)
You can't come to the Milan Film Festival because to arrive there you have to get through 2550 steps without slides, activate 4 non-functional escalators, wait an hour for public transport equipped for you, change street to not climb up a flight of steep stairs?
For the 13° edition there is Visibili, a bus service in which you arrive to the festival and go back home after the projections.
