Born in the Marches region in 1969, she started to write literary texts at the age of 18, when she started college in Bologna. Her work was noticed by Pier Vittorio Tondelli, who in 1990 decided to publish some of her works in the Papergang, Under 25 anthology.

Her first novel, written in 1991, is Il compleanno dell'iguana, that was translated in French, German and Portuguese. In 1992 she wrote La Guerra degli Antò, on which is based the homonymous film made in 1999 by Riccardo Milano.

In 1994 she published the collection of short stories Gli orsi, in 1996 a long biographical interview with lady writer Joyce Lussu, Una vita contro, and in 1998 the novel La giovinezza della signorina N.N., una storia d'amore.

Besides being a writer - her latest books are Nina (2001), Il compagno di mezzanotte (2002), and the collection of short stories Senza gli orsi (2003) - she works as a translator and as an editor of short stories by young authors.
