The movies
Introduction
In 2009, the festival, in collaboration with COOPI, launched a call for entries for social communication short films produced by NGOs and Italian and international humanitarian organizations which operate in third world countries.
Their purpose is to report of social development and aid projects, to delve into the relations between the North and the South, to raise the awareness of a larger and larger audience on social communication themes, and to promote the production of higher-quality videos.
The filmmakers of the winning films and the NGOs will have the opportunity to present their films during the several festival rendezvous dedicated to the five thematic sections of the competition: the environment (focusing particular attention on issues linked to water and farming); education and distant support; health; human rights and the empowerment of local communities; and emergencies and humanitarian aid activities.
