Planetaria
Milano Film Festival has always paid close attention to films that report reality. In fact, during these years of research and selection of films from all over the world, many works - documentaries and fictions, feature and short films, animation and experimental films - have focused on problems related to the environment. Namely, on emergencies caused by pollution, rubbish, or actual natural disasters; but also on positive situations generated by communities that create - or triy to create - a sustainable relation with the surrounding ecosystems: the portraits coming from the four corners of the world present a variegated overview and tell stories often completely ignored by the audience.
After the great success of the night dedicated in 2008 to the State (T)error documentary Flow - For Love of Water (an extraordinary work on the privatization of water), Milano Film Festival 2009 is organizing in collaboration with Amiacque a section of feature and short films on water, but also on the earth and its irresponsible exploitation. They will disclose stories about ecosystems endangered by oil pumping, about other natural resources, or people that, through environmental protection, are leading a political battle for their community's or even their country's independence.
This film section will include documentaries and short films of all genres and formats, and the screenings - taking place over the ten festival days - will be accompanied by in-depth discussions.
