Digital Filmmaking - Workshop and competition In collaboration with SAE, Milano Film Festival presents a competition dedicated to young non-professional filmmakers, in order to make a 3-minute-lasting video/reportage on the first festival day.

Participants will have to create the video/reportage using their own technological resources (camera and personal computer) and they will have to send the final work to the SAE Institute head office in via Morimondo 19/21, 20143 Milano. Please specify on the envelope: "Contest video Milano Film Festival".
A commission of experts, composed by members of SAE, Milano Film Festival, and esterni, will choose the most ingenious and interesting video, able to best represent the atmosphere of the first festival day.
The winner will get a scholarship for the Digital Film Making course at SAE institute.

In order to provide the theoretical basis and the practical competence for the shooting of the video, a workshop will be held on Saturday September 5th from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at the SAE Institute. The central topics will be: editing, shooting, shooting plan, distribution of the video on the web. The workshop will last 4 hours and a limited number of 30 participants will be admitted. It is also possible to take part in the competition without attending the introductory course on September 5th by sending the film at SAE Institute's head office.

3D Animation A free workshop will also be held for the lovers of animation technologies, for the creation and animation of a 3D object.
It will concern the technical basis of 3D modeling and animationÕs principles, from the most realistic to the most complex ones. The workshop will last 3 hours and it will be held by professionals from the SAE institute during the Film Festival in a specifically reserved site.

When: Tuesday, September 15th; 2 to 4 p.m.

Post produce yourself A workshop to learn about the means and techniques to make a TV miniclip: green-back shooting, editing, composing and finalization of the film. The aim of "Post Produce Yourself" is to help participants approach both digital film production and post-production worlds. The workshop will last 3 hours and it will be held by professionals from the SAE institute during the Film Festival in a specifically reserved site.

When: Saturday, September 12th; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
