Architecture and films are often associated, mostly because of the great effectiveness with which films manage to describe urban facts, the city, and the different ways to live in it.
Architects and city planners have "used" films to present and support their ideas, as in the case of futurist or German expressionist films, in which state-of-the-art cities become the focus of attention, and are at the same time the setting and an integral part of film narration. Films therefore play an important role in the interpretation of cities, being a useful instrument to understand the social dynamics influencing everyday life and the growth of contemporary cities.

An ideal mix of architecture and video art, of urban planning and media design, Movi(e)ng Cities features video investigations on urban landscapes and spaces, on the forms and impressions of different places, and on the architectural and social changes they undergo, as well as meetings and roundtables with professionals from the sector.
