International Short Film Competition
The competition is open to films of all genres released as from January 1st 2007, independently of language and screening format, with a running time of no more than 45 minutes.
Over the years, we have selected a diverse range of films, representing several styles, from animation films to documentaries, from experimental films to works influenced by visual art and visual installations, from comedies to political and social portraits.
We carefully select 50 to 60 films representative of the finest independent filmmaking yearly, both from Italy and other countries and such is the quality of our films that after competing in Milano Film Festival many of them also feature in the selections of the most important film festivals worldwide.
The selected short films will be divided in 1-hour groups featuring different genres and screening formats, and every group will be screened three times during the festival. All films are screened in their original language, with English and Italian subtitles.
The filmmakers will be invited to Milan and will have the possibility to present their films every time they'll be screened and during specially dedicated meetings and talks.
