International Feature Film Competition
The competition is open to films of all genres released as from January 1st 2007, independently of language and screening format, with a running time of at least 45 minutes.
Over the last few years we have selected top-quality feature films, representative of independent filmmaking and with a special attention for cinéma d'auteur, from those parts of the world in which financial, political and social problems have a deeper influence on cultural production and the artistic development of young filmmakers and visual artists.
In 2008 the selection panel has worked as always to find films by young international filmmakers, with the aim of selecting creative and representative first or second works.
We looked for them in the most innovative European schools and among the visually and technically most interesting experimental works from the Far East and South America. Our goal is to highlight and enhance the creativity of European and American filmmaking, offering film experts and lovers an overview on high-quality films, often characterized by the interaction of languages and the attempt to portray in the most effective way the social and political reality of the world we live in.
Each selected feature film will be screened twice, in the original screening format and language, with English and Italian subtitles: the filmmakers will be invited to Milan and will have the possibility to present their films every time they will be screened and during specially dedicated meetings and talks.
