Who is doctor Gilliam?

A visionary genius, Terry Gilliam has a unique and complex history on the international film scene.
He started off as an illustrator, and he later became a TV screenwriter, animator, actor, and member of the Monty Python. He directed over a dozen of films, disturbed masterpieces that shine for their imperfection.
From Brazil to The Brothers Grimm, Terry Gilliam has explored all genres without quite adhering to any, but rather reinterpreting in his own way the rules and conventions of fairy tales, thrillers, apocalyptic films.
His career is beset with strange production problems, often linked to his need to be "independent", "different" and not to be "pigeon-holed". A modern don Quixote, Terry Gilliam fights for his films, often in spite of worse-than-expected problems, as well represented in Lost in la mancha, like those set off by the untimely death of Heath Ledger, that have so far prevented him from finishing his latest film.
