Introduzione

The Animation Focus has for years successfully represented at the Festival the diversity of the world of animation: as this is never presented under a single form, the event is continually growing. The Secret of the Kells is the animated feature film to be previewed at this year´s festival: the film, a winner at the prestigious Annecy Festival, took back to the screen the charm, both aesthetic and narrative, of two-dimensional magic, able to draw the audience into a spectacular visual display. The marathon, with just under four hours of stories from the most innovative school in the world, is a veritable playground for experimentation, (there will also be an interpretative reading of politically incorrect videogames from the eighties) and presents he special screening of a short animated film by a very young pupil of the Istituto Albe Steiner, Milan, produced by LEG Ð Alviero Martini. The workshop, focused on animated film credits, is hosted by the Bonsai Ninja studio: get free your creativity to play around with the various animations of the festival. A central part of the exhibition is the long-awaited meeting with Aardman Animations, the creators of Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, chosen by Peter Gabriel for the music video of his famous song Sledgehammer. They are the creators of a new generation of puppets that are loved because they are characters of real humanity, full of humour and sensitivity.
