Round table - From cinema to web: expressing humanity nowadays

Introduction
For the second year the Milan Film Festival in association with COOPI has organised a competition announcement for social documentation videos. And this year, following extensive promotion and research, the exhibition will offer increased quality, variety and depth, a sign that its goal is beginning to be shared. The goal is very specific: the need for a more cinematic approach in the making of corporate videos which document cooperation projects in developing countries. The chosen directors were able to portray not only the crises, but also the possibility for sustainable development, with a language that is different to that of fundraising adverts. By experimenting and using the opportunities of cinema, they were able to depict a range of projects, from parts of the world that differ considerably from one another in their socio-political situations.
