A Tribute to Ok Go and their Art

In 2005 the video for Here It Goes Again was spreading all around the world: the tapis-roulant dance became a symbol of this new kind of music video. Two different versions of This Too Shall Pass and the crazy accelerated marathon of End Love made their style unique and recognisable to everyone. An aesthetic taste that generates self-made, analogical wonders, mixing up Norman MacLaren and Michel Gondry, videodance and Terry Gilliam, always with that sense of humour in it. They say that the video is dead, but as they stand there Ð while people throw paint buckets at them - the Ok Go state exactly the opposite.

Tape Delay

Tape Delay is a cycle proposed by OÕ and Die Schachtel, which presents a series of audiovisuals based on analogical and mechanical devices (such as 16mm projectors, tapes, reel tape recorders, walkman and cassettes) which grafted on to one another, transformed and brought to life through performance as well as automated in a closed circuit. Create and regenerate their contents from themselves. The images and the moving instrument create visions and sound in a continuously changing setting which reawakens the perception of those who watch and listen.

Mind the difference

The Mind the Difference video competition - organized by the Fondazione Bertini Malgarini Onlus - was created as a challenge to young directors to investigate the borders between normality and madness. The idea that there is no madness without normality is the subject of the competition. A jury of the great theatre duo Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mastrella, two psychiatric patients, a director and a producer from the Associazione Giovani Produttori Cinematografici selected the ten best videos which were then put to the vote of the public. The Milan Film Festival presents the three films that received the most votes. Far from every prejudice, far from rhetoric and far from the asylums. ÒBe curious, not judgmentalÓ, as Walt Whitman said.
