This year the Milano Film Festival showcases Anima.Azione, a variegated event that explores the world of animation techniques and productions and presents animation films a genre that is open to innovation and stylistic research.

Schedule

Monday, September 13 – 9:00 pm (Castle) Non-stop event from 9 pm until late at night, featuring a rich selection of short films from the world over, and extraordinarily set in the moat of the Castello Sforzesco.

Tuesday, September 14 – 9:00 am (Castle)
“Giostra dell’Io”, a creative workshop for people over 60 years, created by Fusako studios, expert in the research for peculiar animation techniques and their application. Held by Fusalo Yusaki, with her incredible ability of modelling plasticine and creating stories, the workshop will involve the audience – everyone will have the chance of modelling plasticine and reproducing his/her own personality in a plasticine character.

Mercoledì 16 e giovedì 17 settembre – ore 14.30 (Teatro Strehler)
Seminar patronised by AICEM (Association of European Cultural Centres in Milan): different producers and filmmakers will discuss on the research, production and animation of films in their countries. Film experts and members of the film industry will present and screen different works in order to compare different productions and to get in touch with different cultures and ways of conceiving animation films.
