
Every evening at 7 pm the Milano Film Festival features live performances of great interpreters, emerging bands and classical musicians. The musical programme, taking place in the piazza in front of the Teatro Strehler, was decided in partnership with Rockit and the Fondazione Milano per la Scala – Gruppo Giovani.

The Zen Circurs
Zen Circus is one of the best-established indie-rock band in Italy. Although they formed in 1994, their fortune began only in 1998 in Italy and the Netherlands, thanks to their rough, acoustic and very personal sound.

Melon Rouge
Their rock is characterised also by melody and harmony, a feature which displays a considerable artistic maturity and is the result of many musical experiments in over ten years.

Daunbailò
Showing a reckless ability to combine tradition and experimentation, their electronic music filters voices and gains a rough and more modern sound thanks to scratches and new rhythms.
Monday 13
Terza Sfera
The project debuted with a dj set line-up, later integrated by guitars, woodwinds, bass and drums, leading the band to jungle, drum&bass, trip hop and dub music. Their lyrics are based on personal experiences.
Tuesday 14
Giorgio Canali &rossofuoco
A superb mix of hard rock and post-punk music softened by poetic lyrics. Canali’s guitar, supported by a rhythmic section, weaves musical threads that sound breezy and catchy.
Wednesday 15
Paolo Benvegnù
Vocalist and guitar player in one of the most important italian bands, Scisma, an Italian alternative-rock group that recently split up, he usually plays with outstanding and unpredictable musicians. He switches from excellent pop music to indie-rock and psychedelia.
Thursday 16
Marta sui tubi
A young duo who moved from Sicily to Bologna and wrote songs for acoustic guitar. Their tunes are characterised by vocals combined with drums, noises, external sounds and ironical lyrics that depict urban life and its mediocrity.

Deasonika
Deasonika has played a fine and convincing modern rock n’ roll since 1994. Its line-up was formed according to the individual characteristics of every instrumental element. Original lyrics and sounds make them one of the most interesting realities in the musical scenario of the latest years.
Saturday 18
B. R. Stylers
A dub-reggae band from Pordenone that has achieved a great success in choosing roots music and lyrics in English, although they use very few instruments. They are influenced by London’s electronic sounds and Jamaica’s roots music.
Sunday 19
jinkà percussion
This project includes 15 percussionists who play in various afro and afro-brazilian bands in Milan. Their innovative arrangements and versatile rhythms embrace urban samba, ethno-funky, afroreggae, mangue-beat and jungle music.
